Charitable Solicitation

The Business License Commission encourages the formation of new and private charities to meet the needs of the public that are not already provided for, fosters all worthy enterprises of a philanthropic nature, and makes recommendations to the County Board of Supervisors when necessary.

The commission performs all of the duties regulating the soliciting of contributions for charitable or philanthropic purposes in the County. Any person or association soliciting any contribution within the County for any charitable purpose shall file a Notice of Intention to Solicit and a Report of Results as required in Chapter 7.24 of the Los Angeles County Code.
